2. Fix the cause, not the symptomReplace the failed component — slate, tile, flashing, pointing, membrane — and check the ones around it, because they are the same age.
3. Make good what the water damagedWet timber, rotten battens and perished felt around the entry point get replaced. Covering back over damaged timber just buys you a year.
4. Tell you the honest outlookIf the covering has three years left in it, we say so, so you can plan. We would rather lose a repair now than sell you two.
