The old felt on this Cardiff house had perished after years of water penetration. We stripped it back, laid new breathable membrane over new treated battens, and finished it in slate.
Decades of water penetration had rotted the felt through. There was no point patching over it — the whole covering had to come off.
Fresh breathable underlay so the roof space can vent, then new treated battens set out to the correct gauge, slates loaded ready to hang.

This flat roof had been patched so many times the covering had given up. Rather than adding another layer we took it back and laid a single seamless covering with proper falls, so water runs off instead of sitting on it.
New stepped flashing cut into the mortar course by course, wedged and pointed back in, with a proper front apron dressed over the tiles below. It takes longer than running a bead of sealant round the stack. It also actually works.
